Lisa is an illustrator, graphic designer, author, and teacher. She worked as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer before getting her Master’s in teaching. Her poetry has been recorded for Shoofly Audio Magazine (listen to audio). Her illustrations have been featured in a variety of educational and corporate publications. These include books for Paulist Press, the syndicated newspaper column, “Fun ‘N Faith”, promotional materials for Wise Monkeys Communications, and educational posters for Discipline with Purpose.
She is still inspired by the same things that fascinated her as a child…trees, animals, weather, good stories, and big ideas. She enjoys breathing life into words using imagery. Most of all she loves the challenge of articulating an idea in a way it hasn’t been expressed before...in both words and pictures.
Lisa lives with her husband in Omaha, Nebraska. They have three grown children. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, renovating her hundred-year-old house, finding new books for her home library, and working in her garden.
